Senior forward Brandon Angel announced on Monday that he intends to transfer to Oregon. This past season, Angel averaged 13 points per game on 57% shooting from the field and over 44% from beyond the arc. The six-foot-eight forward steadily improved during his time on the Farm, increasing his averages in points and rebounds each year.
Angel’s transfer is a huge loss for Stanford, who will need to replace a lot of production in Kyle Smith’s first season. Although Smith will have junior center Maxime Raynaud back for his senior year, six of Stanford’s top seven scorers recently graduated or entered the portal. Smith does have a chance to retain freshman guard Andrej Stojakovic, who is currently taking visits to other schools.
However, it remains clear that Smith will need to land his transfer portal targets if Stanford is to have a successful 2024-25 campaign.
