Stanford struggles in ACC home debut, falls 31-7 to Virginia Tech

In Stanford football’s first home conference game as a member of the ACC, the Cardinal (2-3, 1-2 ACC) struggled offensively in a 31-7 loss to the Virginia Tech Hokies (3-3, 1-1 ACC) last Friday. Junior quarterback Justin Lamson faced difficulties in his season debut following junior Ashton Daniels’ injury against Clemson. Stanford’s lone touchdown came on a 19-yard pass from freshman running back Micah Ford to junior wide receiver Elic Ayomanor.

Stanford heads to South Bend, Ind., next week to take on the 11th-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
