SUDPS reports 14 auto burglaries since start of winter quarter

Feb. 15, 2015, 9:46 p.m.

According to an email sent by the Stanford University Department of Public Safety (SUDPS), there have been 14 auto burglaries since the beginning of winter quarter.

The SUDPS bulletin lists the last burglary attempt as having occurred on Feb. 5 sometime between 7:50 a.m. and 3:10 p.m. in Parking Structure Six, which is under Wilbur Field. The bulletin also states that the time and location of the crime was similar to that of most of the other auto robberies during winter quarter.

The SUDPS email advised that students and faculty refrain from keeping valuables in cars, activate automobile alarms and report suspicious activity.

“If you observe any suspicious activity or behavior such as an individual loitering around vehicles, peering into vehicles and/or trying door handles, or wandering in an office area without legitimate business, call 9-1-1 immediately,” stated the email.
