YWCA response to sexual assault op-ed

Jan. 21, 2015, 10:32 p.m.

Recently, there was an article published about a Stanford student who was sexually assaulted and called the YWCA’s Rape Crisis Line.  We strive to serve each caller, whether male, female, transgender, non-identifying gender, adult or child, with the utmost respect, understanding and sensitivity.  We know that no one is immune to sexual assault.  We provide our volunteer advocates with extensive training on how to deal with a myriad of situations including working with underserved populations.  It is our goal to help every person who calls our crisis line.  We hope that people will not be deterred from calling and utilizing our services in the future as we have much to offer.
