A year after getting knocked out in the first round of the NCAA singles bracket, sophomore Bradley Klahn steamrolled Louisville’s Austen Childs to take home the title, 6-1, 6-2. He becomes the ninth Cardinal player since 1977 to win an NCAA singles championship. All nine won the title in Athens, Ga.
Klahn, who came in as a 9-16 seed, was dominant all tournament, losing a set only twice. He stepped up his game in the biggest matches, defeating top seed Henrique Cunha in the semis and Childs in the finals while only dropping seven total games.
